Olivia Muscat

Olivia Muscat is a writer, performer, speaker and disability arts activist living on unceded Wurundjeri land. Based in Narrm/Melbourne she writes stories that celebrate intersectional, disabled identities and the fun, colourful, weird parts of life.

Her first picture book, My Name Is Jemima, was released in June 3 2025, and her autobiographical play, Is Anyone Even Watching, will premier at Arts House in October as part of Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Her novel for younger readers, I Don’t Want To Be Your Friend, was shortlisted for the Text Prize for children’s and young adult literature and will be published by Fremantle Press in 2026.

Her writing has featured in several notable anthologies and web publications, and she is known for her often funny, joyful and irreverent approach to disability politics.
