We’re in what Tracy has called a ‘scamdemic’, and no one is immune.

According to the Global Anti Scam Alliance, in 2024 one trillion dollars was lost around the world to scams and fraud. With the rising use of AI and advancing technology, sophisticated and socially engineered scams are becoming increasingly common.

Tracy’s story is one of them. With one text message, her world changed overnight. As she opened the link to a crime article, the man she’d been dating for the last two years stared back at her from the screen. He had a different name than she knew, but that familiar face was all she needed to see to confirm her savings of $317,000 was now in limbo.

This moment was the beginning of unravelling her life from Australia’s most notorious con artists and reclaiming her power through sharing her experience. Since the release of her book, The Last Victim, Tracy has gone from global marketing executive to scam awareness advocate. She breaks down the shame often felt amongst targets and carves out space in the media for learning, growth and empathy.

From email invoice interceptions, data farming and deep web fakes, Tracy is now using her platform to change the way we think about scams in our personal and professional lives.

Storyfest is honoured to be hosting Somerset College Alumna (1993) Tracy Hall for our annual Business Lunch this August.

Thinking about joining us? Here’s five reasons why you’ll want a seat at the table.

  1. A Powerful Story
This is not a work of fiction. Tracy has lived through the real-world impacts of not only losing money but trust for the people she cared for. Her story is raw and authentic, one you might remember before clicking on a too-good-to-be-true email offer.

  2. Boardroom to Podium
With a career leading global marketing campaigns for Virgin, GoDaddy and eBay, Tracy brings a unique and insightful experience from household names, digital strategy and resilience in business.

  3. Uncensored Truth
We often only see the scams people are vulnerable enough to share; there are layers beneath the surface of wrong place and wrong time scenarios. It’s an ever-evolving mind field of AI, fraud, and second-guessing. Tracy reveals what to look out for and what we can expect to see in the years to come.

  4. Impact and Purpose
Tracy transformed her story of manipulation and heartbreak into a path of financial empowerment. She shows strength through storytelling and fiercely advocates for scam education strategies from the schoolroom to the boardroom.

  5. Inspiration You Can Use
Whether you’re a leader, entrepreneur, or someone who has faced betrayal, Tracy’s talk will leave you thinking differently about scams, AI, and the human cost of fraud.

Make sure to grab a ticket, and we hope to see you there!
