The legacy from this year’s festival continues three months later.

It’s been just over three months since our annual Storyfest writers’ festival took over the city with more than 30 of Australia’s best authors and illustrators and inspired aspiring writers and avid readers, and we’re still feeling the electrifying energy spill over from the festival.

Held from 20 to 22 March and beyond, the festival hosted an action-packed line-up of author sessions, inspiring networking events, workshops, panels and free, family-friendly community events that entertained and delighted people of all ages.

This year, the festival exceeded over 21,000 ticket sales and offered over 73 schools, book lovers and emerging writers the opportunity to immerse themselves in literature on the Gold Coast. Our popular, annual beach library activation popped up again on Surfers Paradise beach, giving away over 7,000 books to the Gold Coast community from 8 to 24 February.

Thank you to all of our volunteers, festival supporters and partners for making it possible for us to bring Storyfest to so many eager readers, writers and book lovers. A special thank you to our presenting partner, Somerset College, our Strategic Partner, City of Gold Coast and our Cultural Partners, HOTA – Home of the Arts, Surfers Paradise Alliance and Inside Voice.

Here’s a little trip down memory lane, thanks to our friends at Short Stack Productions.
